| Psychostar is tastelessly in-your-face and proud of it. Sparking a profane twist to the generous side of rock and roll, they strut with the guts of Joan Jett, sing with the raw lyricism of Guns 'N Roses and play with the sizzling tastiness of Aerosmith and AC/DC. Just add in the attitude of The Clash and Dead Boys and what you get is Psychostar. Unafraid to raise hell, these broads are a ruthless, high-energy four-piece that have risen from L.A.'s finest, to teach the kids what hard and heavy guitar screaming rock 'n' roll is all about.
Blare N. Bitch and Sharon Needles, both from punk parody act Butt Trumpet and the notorious and beloved all female hard-rocking Betty Blowtorch, have reunited to rock once again. After the untimely demise of Betty Blowtorch, Blare stepped up to the plate to front Blare Bitch Project. It was in BBP, where Blare traded hefty helpings of neck-snapping riffs, supercharged licks and all the necessary tricks with second guitar player, Punky, who cut her teeth in SF Bay area bands, Leathur Panteez and Blackjack Bandit before she relocated to Hollywood. With two guitar wielding rocker chicks and a heart full of soul, it was time to put it all together. Enter exuberant drummer, Lanie Fire, who has beat 'em down in L.A.'s all female brat punksters, Snap-Her, and Exene Cervenka's Original Sinners. Lanie brings the backbeat and ties it all together in a cute little package of razor blades and smiles.
Check out a show, listen to some tunes, have a few beers and rock out with Psychostar, an adrenaline-fueled rock machine. |
