Anna Conda started doing drag in the mid 90's at Boy Bar, Jackie 60, and the Pyramid's Channel 69. She went on to win Miss Boy Bar and a Jackie award for Best X-Rated Performance as well as to perform at Wigstock three times. After moving to San Francisco, she won Miss Trannyshack 2004 and, in that same year, she started Charlie Horse, a rock and roll drag show at the Cinch Saloon on Polk Street. She produced Herr-A-Chick a live band/ Drag/Cabaret night on the first and third Wednesdays at the Eagle Tavern (with Rentecca and Juanita Fajita). And, Anna was sainted by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence during their 30th anniversary, becoming Saint Anna Conditional Love and Rockets, Protector of the Polk and Purveyor of the Apunkalypse. Always an Activist, Anna organized the SF leg of the Great Nation-Wide Kiss In, many “Take Back the Polk” marches, and started Queerer Nation as a platform for local queer actions. Anna is eternally rising to challenges and meeting them square on, and always with a sense of humor. Last year, she ran for Supervisor of District 6 (as her alter ego “Glendon Hyde”) and came in 5th out of 16 candidates. Recently, Anna was appointed to the SF Entertainment Commission as well. |
